Your input is basic to help us having a complete FAQs section. In order to reach this goal, we'll try to add questions to this section and keep it updated, thanks also to your help and thanks to the experience we hope to gain on the Web world.

Estimate request

  • How do I place an estimate request?

    To ask for an on line estimate, you need to register and to have therefore your username and password that will be communicated after the request. To fill out the request form, go to My Account – Sign in.
    If you go to Customer Area, or if you go to the Catalog and you would like to ask for an estimate, you'll be asked to digit your username and password; once you've logged in, you'll enter a web page which you'll be able to require an estimate from.
    Add product you are interested in to your cart, getting to items descriptions by virtual catalog, or by three different searching options in Search section or by entering items in Quick Search and Quick Request section at the top, right-hand side of any page.

    To go ahead click Estimate Request. If you would like to send it later, remember that your cart doesn't empty until you confirm it. To modify quantities, go to the Customer Area menu - Cart.
    Once you sent your on-line estimate request, your cart will be empy and you can view, print and save your estimate, identified by its number and date, whenever you like just clicking on Archieves from Customer Area. In the bottom side of the page you find the possibility to digit your favourite delivery date, the contact person name for the specific estimate request and to add notes. The online estimate number will be displayed. If you want to view it, you'll find it in Customer Area – Estimate history. You will also receive an email confirmation.

  • How does the quick request work?

    At the top, right-hand of any page, there is the Quick-Request option, in case you already know both the GB code and the quantity of interested items. Fill out these fields and the cart page will display. Now you will be able to: modify quantities and update the order by clicking on the + button at the line end; delete positions by clicking on X button at the line end; add positions using the Quick Request method (of course if you already know the code) or clicking on Back to Catalogue; go on with the order and after you've checked the accuracy of datas, send the order by clicking on Confirm. The online estimate number will be displayed. You will also receive an email confirmation.

  • Why do I have to register to ask for an estimate?

    Because our estimates managing system needs few necessary informations to work. To register you just need to fill out the required fields and send the request. You will be contacted as soon as possible and we'll give you your username and password which will give you the possibility to enter the Customer Area.
    Registering is reserved to businesses or VAT registration number owners.

  • How do I add or delete positions or clear my cart?

    Items can be added to cart in various ways throughout the site (Users must be logged on, to enter items into a cart). From Catalog, Search, Quick Search sections by clicking on the + button, otherwise skipping the items data sheet using Quick Request section, just in case you know the code of the item you want to put in cart.
    Positions in cart can also be always added, modified or deleted before finalizing estimates, using + and X buttons, on the left-hand side of any cart position.
    You can also clear your cart, deleting all the positions.

  • What are the terms of purchase?

    You can put items in your cart and send the estimate request at a different time. The goods put in cart do not delete when you get off the Internet connection but they stay there so that you can finalize request when you prefer. You just need to log on to check your cart from Customer Area menu, Cart.

  • How do I place an order?

    Choose the method you prefer:

    1. Ordering on-line, right after you've been registered and you require the apposite qualify to order.
    2. Sending an email right from your desk to: gnuttibortolo@gnuttibortolo.com
    3. Come visit us at our site in 34 Monsuello Rd. in Lumezzane, BS at these times: Monday-Friday 8.00AM-12.15PM, 1.30PM-6.00PM.
  • How do prices, discount and minimum order work?

    On line Pricelist is taxes free and daily updated. Near the item code, you can see the pieces ready in stock, the gross price and discount. When the discount is zero, it means that those are net prices.
    There are meny items that have discount table basing on the purchased quantity. In order to see those table, click on its sign, otherwise when you modify the quantity, the discount automatically updates.
    Minimum order is 50€, taxes and shipping charges not included.

  • How do I place an on-line order?

    To order on line, you need to register and to have therefore your username and password that will be communicated after the request. To fill out the request form, go to My Account – Sign in. To have a Username and Password qualified to order, you need to ask it on purpose.
    If you go to Customer Area, or if you go to the Catalog and you want to view the complete product data sheet, you'll be asked to digit your username and password; once you've logged in, you'll enter a web page which you'll be able either to ask for an estimate or to order from.

  • What are the billing options?

    For irregular purchases or new customers, the preferred payment is by credit card or upon delivery.
    The monthly invoice, with net 30 days payment term from date of invoice, is the billing option commonly applied on approved open accounts, therefore customers that regularly purchase. The payment term may be delayed for big purchasing quantities.

  • What are the terms of purchase?

  • How do I place an international order?

    The international ordering process is the same. English and German are the preferred languages.

  • How do I add or delete positions or clear a shopping cart?

  • What do 1 or more stars mean, in the list of products data sheet?

    Inside the items data page, the short descriptions can be sided by 1, 2 or 3 stars or other simbols. Such simbols have meanings specifically for internal stock control. However they mean: 1 star identifies items that will be available until stock exhaustion, 2 stars or "a" identify alternative products, 3 stars identify special products kept in stock for specific Customers.

  • How can I have a paper catalog?

    Updated complete catalog is now available!
    900 pages of products and technical information. If you are not a historical customer, an expense contribution is required to obtain a catalog.
    Ask about this and we remind you that from the website you can download the catalog divided into departments for free.

  • What are the different ways I can search for an item?

    On the Gnutti Bortolo Srl web site you can reach items data page though different ways:

    1. Browsing the catalog, choosing, page by page, the searched product category.
    2. Going on Search Section that gives you three different searching ways. Choosing the product category from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the window, you get to the triple product search: By entering Gnutti Bortolo Srl code; remember that GB code are composed of 8 figures: the first 5 identify the item, the other 3 identify measurings. Therefore it's basic to put 5 or 8 numbers in the box, to let the searching engine work and find the item code.
      By entering the manufacturer code: first selecting the brand from the first drop-down menu, and then the code from the second drop-down menu.
      By entering a keyword in the box, the search system looks for the keyword either in categories or in items descriptions and the results will split in such a way. The keyword search unfortunately does not identify plurals-singulars, synonyms and half words: it works with whole words, for this reason if you don't find what you are searching for, try with the corresponding singular-plural or synonym ones.
    3. In the Search section, on the right-hand of the window there is a Special Search for cutting tools that requires specific parameters to be indetified and found, such as Taps, Inserts, Mills and Drills. If you click on one of those , you go to pages which you can select various paramenters from. When choosing the first one, the others automatically self-select, basing on what is available. Now you can: immediately view the items; select the other parameters to define your search untill you view what you're searching for. To reset the search parameters, click on Reset.
    4. Besides these searching methods, from any website page, you can use the Quick Search, select the searching method you prefer from the drop-down menu, among GB code, Manufacturer code, Keyword; fill out the box and click on OK button.
      The Keyword search works exactly in the same way as in the Search section (but it looks though the whole catalog), so everything said here at c.point works in the same way. This searching method is advised whenever you have a clear idea of what is your search object is for this main reason the priority was given to the speed which the results come out with, rather than any importance or alphabetical order.
      If you don't know exactly what you're looking for or you would like to view other related products (accessories or substitutes), we advise you to use the other searching methods.

Registering and updating data

  • Why do I have to register to view prices and complete items pages?

    We regret not heaving our prices available for everybody. Serious reasons support our choice that deal with closed competition. This has nothing to do with keeping our Customers in the dark over pricing.
    Our prices policy is based on a complex structure of different discounts tables that wants to offer the best price for our Customers. This structure of course reward the more faithful Customers but also aspires to give an optimum quality-price set to whoever fills out the registering form.

  • How can I register?

    Go to My Account - Sign in. Fill out the required sections and send the request. You will be contacted as soon as possible and we'll give you your username and password which will give you the possibility to enter the Customer Area.

  • How can I modify or update my profile?

    Go to My Account - Login. Log in and you'll go to the page where your data is, with the chance to click on boxes and modify contents.

  • Do I have to already be a gb customer to get a username and password?

    You do not need to already be a Customer, just fill out the registration form and send the request. To simplify and speed up the opening account process, we appriciate trade and bank references or contacts with businesses which we already regularly deal with.

  • What are username and password?

    They are two registered Customer identifing fields that allow to go into the Customer Area, then to view the complete items data sheets, to use estimate require chart On specific demand, your username and password can be qualified to use shopping cart and make online purchases.

  • Are my username and password a case sensitive?

    Yes they are a Case Sensitive, therefore they must be entered the exact same way it was communicated, paying attention to capital-tiny typefaces.

  • How does Gnutti Bortolo Srl grant privacy and safety of inserted data?

Delivery and invoicing

  • How can I return an item?

    Basic condition is the returne-goods document.
    We accept returns of unused items in their original packagings and used items just for tested production defects, within 20 days from the date of shipment. We do not accept returned goods or and defective goods without documents and claim form filled up complete of: item code, date of purchasing and accurate defect description.

  • Whom do I contact for claims for discrepancies in shipment?

    Customers should check orders upon arrival, both with GB carrier and customer select carrier: eventual demages must be immediately communicated. Call directly at +39308926207 and, once the correspondence has been checked and corresponds with the declared conditions, it will follow the good replacement or the return policy.   • Do you ship hazardous or v.o.c. material?

    Gnutti Bortolo Srl is equipped to ship or deliver VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) material or the chemical products such as solvents, diluents etc. However since those products are governed by law depending on destination, it is Customers responsibility to check their legal position on receiving such products.
    For products that require specific use parameters, please feel free to contact us and ask for appropriate technical data sheets.

  • Carriage paid or carriage forward?

    If you want to select your carrier, you must tell us. If you ask for carriage paid, GB ships with its carriers and in any case we require a minimum of 8 € as a freight contribution, that depends upon the weight, dimension and destination of the goods, plus eventual Cash-on-delivery charges. When the package has been sent, you can ask us for the delivery code so that you can check your package status on the carrier Website.

  • What are the invoicing options?

    On first purchase we require advanced payment or payment upon delivery. From the second order, in order to ask for an extended payment, it is necessary to give bank references. Through delivery note, Gnutti Bortolo Srl offers transparency of purchases in dealing with small quantities and the possibility of having a single monthly payment. The summing up monthly invoice, with net 30-days-end of month payment on approved open accounts, is the method that is usually applied to solid customers that regularly purchase.

  • Are there freight charges?

    Gnutti Bortolo Srl does not have a minimum monthly invoice charge, however for specific economic reasons a small expense contribution will be asked for the rates shown below.
    The minimal amount for the monthly invoice is 80 €, under which the "low import expenses" will be charged 5€.
    Of course, these expenses are not charged if you chose Immediate or Accompaining Invoice with payment in advance or on delivery. In the store, we also accept cash or credit cards.

  • How may I receive my invoice as soon as possible?

    The monthly invoice is normally sent by email punctually tha last day of the month. Send your request and you'll get GB invoice directly on your desk the last day of the month!
