Modified alcohol DOWCLENE 1601 is an alternative to chlorinated-hydrocarbon, etc. metal cleaning and degreasing systems, sintered too, small precision parts or as a surface agent prior to other processes. Used in appropriate closed cleaning machine is also suited to difficult applications such as lapping oils and polishing pastes. It has very low toxicity, good biodegradability, a high flash point, dries under optimal conditions residue-free, can be distilled. It is non-corrosive and repels water from metal surfaces, so requires no stabilizers.
